Booking & Availability

How do I rent storage?

Simply click the sign-up button on our website, choose your storage size, complete the secure online payment, then drive to site and start storing. It only takes a few minutes.

Is there a minimum rental period?

No. There is no minimum rental period. Storage runs on a rolling basis and you can leave at any time by giving just two weeks' notice by email.

Do you have availability? Can I reserve a unit?

Availability changes regularly and live availability is shown during the online sign-up process. If you're planning ahead, you can reserve a unit up to two weeks in advance to make sure storage is ready when you need it.

If your preferred size isn't available, you can join the waitlist and be notified as soon as a unit becomes available.

Access & Security

Can I access my container at any time?

Yes. You benefit from 24/7 drive-up access, 365 days a year - early mornings, late nights, weekends, no problem.

Is the storage facility secure?

Yes. Our site is protected by 24/7 CCTV recording, secure perimeter fencing and controlled gate access.

How do I lock my unit?

A lock will be waiting for you inside your container when you arrive. This lock must then be fitted into the integrated lock box on the container door.

The lock box is an added security feature designed to help protect your belongings and reduce the risk of break-ins. You're welcome to add additional locks of your own if you wish.

Container Sizes & Protection

What container sizes do you offer?

We offer 20ft shipping containers, with 10ft containers coming soon.

How much can I fit in a container?

Capacity depends on the unit size you choose.

  • 10ft container: approximately 75 wheelbarrow loads.
  • 20ft container: approximately two medium van loads, the contents of an average 3-bed house, or up to 11 Euro pallets.
Are the containers weatherproof?

Yes. All containers are wind and watertight, designed to protect your belongings from the elements.

For long-term storage, we recommend raising items off the floor.

Will my storage unit be affected by condensation?

All of our containers are weatherproof and ventilated with 14 airflow vents. In addition, we have upgraded every unit with a specialist thermal insulation coating to help regulate internal conditions and significantly reduce the risk of condensation forming.

While temperature changes can naturally create moisture in any storage environment, there are simple steps you can take to further protect your items:

  • Store items dry: make sure belongings are fully dry before moving in.
  • Allow airflow: leave small gaps between items and avoid packing boxes tightly against the walls.
  • Use breathable covers: fabric dust sheets are better than plastic wrapping, which can trap moisture.
  • Raise items off the floor: pallets or shelving improve air circulation.
  • Consider moisture absorbers: dehumidifier tubs can provide extra reassurance for sensitive items.

What You Can Store

Are there any restrictions on what I can store?

Most household and business items are fine. You cannot store hazardous, illegal, stolen, perishable or environmentally harmful goods, live animals, firearms or ammunition.

These restrictions are standard across the industry.

Can I store vehicles or business items?

Yes. You can store vehicles such as cars, motorcycles, boats and jet skis. You can also store tools, stock and equipment.

Payments & Leaving

How do payments work?

Payments are made online via our secure portal with automatic monthly billing.

Do I need insurance?

Yes. Insurance is not included, and your goods must be insured for their full value while in storage. More information can be found in our storage agreement.

Is there a minimum stay and can prices change?

There's no minimum rental period. Storage runs on a rolling basis and you can leave at any time with two weeks' notice by emailing info@discount-storage.uk.

Prices are fixed when you move in. If they were ever to change, we'd give you advance notice.

How do I give my container back?

Email info@discount-storage.uk to give two weeks' notice and confirm your last day.

Please leave the container empty and broom clean, with the lock placed in the middle, and send us a photo. Once checked, we'll refund your deposit and any remaining rent promptly.
